About Aylesbury Therapy for Kids

I have spent most of my working life as an estate agent, running my own business since 1998. Previously I have been a publican, a banker, a door to door salesman and a few other things besides.

Together with my wife, a nurse, I have two fantastic adult children, a cat (Milo) and a husky dog (Nala). We have worked and lived in Aylesbury most of our lives, my son now lives in Sydney.

I was first introduced to a limited form of NLP by Simon Edwards about 10 years ago. The insights and practical methods it provides have since fascinated me. In 2013 I met Gemma Bailey at an introductory day for her business NLP4kids. Since then I have been hooked , qualifying as an NLP practitioner early in 2017. I have since qualified to become a licensed NLP4kids practitioner.

While my children were going through school I had various meetings and discussions with teachers over issues that came up. I discussed many of these same issues with other parents like we all do. The secondary school teachers we met generally were hard pressed to meet curriculum demands and some children’s needs were likely to slip through the net.

A child with issues over a family bereavement, stressing out over exams, anxiety, phobias, trying to deal with a parental split or perhaps the arrival of a new sibling was unlikely to find resolution in the school environment. Such issues often cannot be addressed by even the most caring school system through a lack of time and resources. These are the areas to name just a few in which I can help with Aylesbury Therapy for kids.

In conjunction with NLP4Kids Aylesbury Therapy for Kids run workshops in schools for children, parents and or teachers. These same workshops can also be helpful for parents in or out of the school environment. In many cases one to one therapy sessions can be held for children within the school but I also work with children offering therapy on a one to one basis having been contacted directly by parents.

As an experienced businessman I am used to identifying and finding answers for situations of all kinds. I get to the root of issues swiftly using this practical approach. Throughout my time in business I have frequently seen the difficulties caused by unaddressed childhood issues. When dealing with staff and clients alike I have had to resolve deep rooted misconceptions. Challenging behaviour is often borne out of childhood experiences.

Established programmes are used to help children manage their own emotional state and to become inspired and motivated by the opportunities life presents them. I teach them how to build valuable relationships, confidence, self esteem and how to eliminate troubling past events. Every child has the right to reach their potential. Through the coaching and NLP techniques I use they can reap huge rewards for themselves, their family and those around them.

FAQs

Do the sessions follow a set format?2023-04-18T16:12:15+01:00

No. Every session is tailored to the individual. If something more pressing presents during a session I will drop the session I have planned and address that issue.

How many sessions will my child need?2023-04-18T16:12:04+01:00

A difficult question as every child is different and faces different challenges. I would suggest around 5 sessions is the average for the many people I work with to see a difference and develop some skills to help them.

Do you work with schools and companies?2023-04-18T16:11:39+01:00

Yes, I have worked with dozens of schools and companies over the years, I currently work with a school in Reading supporting the faculty and students with their training needs.

How do I book a session with Ian?2023-04-18T16:10:26+01:00

You can book an initial consultation with me by clicking here which is completely free of charge. This gives you and your child an opportunity to meet me and decide whether I am a good fit to help, it also mean I can determine whether I am the right person to support your child, this is a no obligation session, it’s no pressure if we decide to go our separate ways but I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
