BIG BROTHERS!!! 😬
I’m on holiday, sat by the pool and there’s a family in front of me with 3 boys aged maybe 11yrs, 8 yrs and 6 yrs and a girl of about 3/4yrs.
The boys were racing across the swimming pool and the little girl was watching them, looking a bit solemn. The oldest boy asks her if she wants to join in the next race and she says “I can’t. I’m not as good at swimming as you boys.”
To which the 11yr old says “You’re not as good because you are standing there watching when you could get better at swimming by joining in with us. And us being boys has nothing to do with it. If you want to be a rocket ship pilot, you can; if you want to be a mechanic, you can. If you want to be a boxer, you can; if you want to be a famous footballer you can. But you’ll only get to be the best at these things if you join in. You probably won’t beat any of us at swimming today, but if you practice every day, eventually you will.”
She’s getting her arm bands on as we speak. ❤️
